A Klap alternative free option has been on my mind lately, since I've been messing around with video editing without wanting to spend money. Something like CapCut or DaVinci Resolve could work well for basic cuts and effects. I'm just trying to find something that doesn't feel too clunky or require a subscription. OpenShot is another one I've heard about, but I haven't tried it yet for syncing audio and video. It's a bit of a rabbit hole, honestly.
